Project Description: Rockville Town Square is a true mixed use urban development, a rare kind in Maryland, with great mix of fine retail, dining services, workspaces and homes, that serves a community's needs. There is 170,000 square feet of street retail and restaurants, with four levels of residential level above. A strong design criterion was set to richly diverse retail environment, through thoughtful lighting, signage and storefront design. KOO Design, LLC designed 21 distinct stores along main streets and around main plaza of this town square. Each store design varies in style, letting each individual character of each vendor, from urban modern façade to traditional main street front setting. In addition, a very close attention was paid in reviewing and advising other tenant's storefront designs. KOO Design played an active role in coordinating and advising each individual tenants and their technical construction documents in storefront design, construction detailing, lighting signage and outdoor café. Strong design input was made by KOO Design to maintain the vision of the main street. |
