Project Description:

A mixture of modern and traditional architecture, this building stretches from San Francisco's historical Market to Mission Street. With 150 special shops, gourmet food purveyors, a state of the art movie theatre occupying 375,000 Square Feet of prime retail space on 5 levels, it is by far the grandest retail experience in west coast.

KOO Design, LLC played a critical role in maintaining quality control and worked very closely with Westfield and Vindico Retail in helping their vision through their tenant's design. This involved careful study of Tenant's proposed design elements, tenant's architectural construction documents and other trades as well as coordinating site conditions. By promoting creative storefronts in the way tenants' faŤade meets the building faŤade we were able to orchestrate a fluid walk through the space from the existing building to the new construction. The bridges, neutral pier, pop out opportunities are few of the tools used to accomplish this. The complexity of the building also required special fire safety requirements that dictated more stringent restrictions in storefront material. However, by attending to each unique quality of tenant's design, we were able to use that to our advantage without interrupting the visual continuity from mall to inside of stores.
